Property Description

Private sunny apartment in NoLita. My home is a walk up building (no elevator). There is an old fashioned bathtub, no shower. If don't mind to walk up 5 flights, and love taking baths, then my home is perfect for your New York visit.

Included:
queen size bed
built in kitchen
linens & towels
hairdryer
A/C and good heat
stove top and oven
small fridge
WIFI internet connection (for your laptop)
lots of sun

During renovation I decided to keep the original (extremely comfortable) bathtub in the kitchen, so you will be living like the original immigrants lived, taking relaxing baths. The building was built in 1900 for the immigrants.

Transportation...
A very short walk to SoHo, Chinatown, Lower East Side, and you are in Little Italy. Subways in a few blocks including the B,D,F,V to Broadway-Lafayette | 6 to Spring St. | J,M to Bowery. It is very easy to get uptown and to Brooklyn. You can walk over the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge too, just about 1/2 an hour walk away.

Map: I have a map of the neighborhood in the apartment showing my favorite spots with opening times listed. Anything that comes up during your stay I am here to help.

Entertainment: There are a bunch of places to visit that are close by including:

Live music and performances:

- The Bowery Electric at 327 Bowery
- Arlene's Grocery at 95 Stanton Street
- Rockwood Music Hall at 185 Orchard Street
- Mercury Lounge at 217 East Houston Street
Comedy:
- Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre at 153 East 3rd Street

Art and Culture:
- New Museum at 235 Bowery
- International Photography Museum 250 Bowery
- Tenement Museum at 103 Orchard

For events it is good to look at Time Out NYC just before you arrive.

About the neighborhood...
Elizabeth Street is in the NoLita (North of Little Italy) area, and has plenty of unique shopping, restaurants nice bars. My favorite restaurants include Cafe Gitane (hangout for models, artists, and great food and excellent coffee), Cafe Habana, just feet away from our front door, and Butchers Daughter.

The original St. Patricks Church is right across from Cafe Gitane. (Featured in the film Gangs of New York by Martin Scorsese). Try to see this film before arriving - you will recognize some of the buildings! There is also the Tenement Museum close by. It focuses on America's urban immigrant history, and is a wild look into how people lived and worked in New York in the turn of the century. Yes, they also had a bathtub in the kitchen.
